Gratitude
Today I was awakened early by my dog’s nose letting me know that she needed to go outside. I have been working on noticing and appreciating what I have (a loving dog that knows I will meet her needs and a chance to view the stars in the night sky) and not what I don’t have (more sleep).
It is easy to slip into a way of viewing the world that focuses on the negative.
This season particularly seems to call for a deliberate focusing on the positive or at least neutral parts of life that can go unnoticed.
I am committing to challenging myself to notice the neutral and positive in my life, both big and small, internal and external.
I invite you to consider doing the same. Setting aside a few moments for personal reflection each day, or writing them down in a gratitude journal are practices that bring this intention to life.
I wish you joy in this experiment!
